THEIR STORY

The Nervous Breakdowns are a Canadian pop music super group. They should not be mistaken for San Francisco's Nervous Breakdowns (who rock!) nor the 1960's Psychedelic group, The Nervous Breakdowns, who appeared on Pebbles Vol. 1 with a song entitled, "I Dig Your Mind".

The Nervous Breakdowns were formed 1894 as byproduct of a decade long drinking binge. Members, songs and shows from that era are shrouded in mystery... or maybe just blocked out of our collective memory. Eventually, on the advice of our doctors, the lineup was solidified, songs were learned, and real gigs were booked..

Today, The Nervous Breakdowns are recognized as the most successful Canadian music act evar, and one of the most popular groups in the whole wide world. Their non-existant albums have dominated the charts from Stalingrad to Iwo Jima, and all points in between. Estimates of their worldwide sales vary from 0 to 400 million (there seems to be no reliable source for this information), which would make them, possibly, the second most successful band of all time (after The Jennifer Jason Lee Harvey Oswalds).

Ever the groundbreakers, The Nervous Breakdowns were the first act from the North American mainland to become a regular fixture on the Angolan, Polish and Nicaraguan charts, and their success subsequently opened the doors for many other North American acts. The Nervous Breakdowns also gained worldwide reknown when they won the prestigeous 1936 Antarctivision Song Contest with their Crypto-funk dancetrance crunkpunk opus, "I Just Realized How Disgusting I Am". Giddy with their new found success, they wisely decided to take a break at the beginning of 2006... but had second thoughts and wisely reformed a week later.

The Nervous Breakdowns are not associated with Devil Worship, except on the appropriate holy days. And if you happen to see them, they are probably lost and could use directions and a hot meal.
